Heralds of the Devourer - Root Fan Faction

As the Heralds of the Devourer, you wish to see the desertification of these woods at the hand of your greatest weapon and ally, The Swarm. An ancient, unstoppable force of destruction, the Swarm has finally regathered, and you will direct it to tear through the woodland and its clearings, leaving near nothing behind. You do not require the support of this woodland. Only its extinction.

To lead the swarm you will reveal cards, representing the abundance of resources in neighbouring clearings. Those factions may in turn reveal cards of their own to thwart the Swarm, representing the support of those clearings to direct the swarm elsewhere. To ensure the Swarm’s path of destruction leaves no resistance, your Heralds, deliverers of the Swarm’s divine judgement, will cover as much of the woodland as possible, to protect your pieces and make targeted battles to advance the Swarm.

The overwhelming environment of these woodlands is hostile to your people, and so you will follow the path of destruction of this Swarm and the suitless Arid Clearings it creates to establish your footholds, placing your holy Obelisks and recruiting your warriors to defend your new territory. Anything left unharmed by the Swarm’s fervor is taken to be assimilated into the Heralds’ Esoterica; Legendary artifacts taken from ruins, other players, or crafted, to be worshipped and studied by your people so that they may continue to waste the world into beautiful ruin. You will score victory points each turn for your collected Esoterica, though they risk being lost forever should your Obelisks be destroyed.
